Perfect germicidal spectrum

PureFize® creates UVC light with a perfect germicidal spectrum. The spectrum is broad with a peak wavelength at 262 nm, which is when germs best absorb UV light.*

Exceptionally high degrees of germicidal reduction (log8=99.999999%) can be reached very rapidly. Also, the scope of the spectrum prevents any reactivation, which means that all bacteria, viruses and other germs are destroyed beyond repair.

Matches the germicidal UVC range

The microbes’ absorption of different wavelengths of UVC light varies based on their physical biology (see diagram above). Every pathogen, however, demonstrates a peak absorption near 265 nm. The absorption is generally low for wavelengths below 250 nm and diminishes quickly above 280 nm. For this reason, the 250 nm to 280 nm range is typically referred to as the germicidal UVC range.

Low-pressure mercury lamps emit UVC light of 253.7 nanometers. Medium-pressure mercury lamps generate a broader spectrum, between 220 and 280 nm. The wavelength of UVC LEDS varies depending on the type of semiconductor used. The wavelength spectrum generated by PureFize is very wide, overlaps the germicidal UVC range and has a peak at 262 (+/- 2) nanometers (see diagram below).
