Turning power into light

Like all light sources, UV light systems generate heat during operation. For general lighting LEDs, only 30–40% of input power is converted to light, with the rest dissipating as heat. For UVC light sources, including UV LEDs, the conversion efficiency is even lower—just 1–5%. This results in a significantly higher proportion of energy being transformed into heat compared to standard light sources.

Why thermal management matters

Thermal properties are critical for the functionality of UV light sources. Excessive heat can directly affect:
